Photo Editing For Mac! Luminar Is New Contender
There’s a new photo editing software on the scene and it’s making quite the splash. Luminar by Macphun is the newest photo editing software to hit the scene in the past month. Let’s dig in and see if it delivers or not!
Luminar UI
First and foremost, the interface is beautiful and easy to navigate. Layers and tools are placed on the right side of your workspace and can easily be hidden from the workspace. It’s also worth mention that the UI is adaptive. This means it can be switched and configured to your skill level. Allowing a user to configure their own workspace is immensely important as it ads individuality, familiarity and ownership of a designers workspace.
How It Compares
How Luminar compares to the industry leading photo editing softwares is important. Although we can switch our workspace around, it is just as important that we are given all the important features we need. Off the bat Luminar has many features that industry leaders, like Lightroom, do not have. As I mention above it has an adaptive UI along with fog filters, layer blend modes, Apple photo extensions and many more filters/extensions/blend modes. However, there is a few important things currently missing. Things like batch processing, image flip, lens correction and red eye correction are marked under “coming soon”. Don’t allow that to sway you away though. I’m positive in coming updates these features will be added, but if Macphun wishes to stand toe to toe with industry leading software, they should update soon. Luminar Overall
At the end of the day Luminar is a powerful photo editor. With a little time and updates it will be able to offer everything and more than industry leading softwares and for a more affordable price too. Grab your copy of Luminar for only $59!
